Our Diocese
As a diocese within the Free Church of England, we are a family of parishes in the north of England and on the Isle of Man under the oversight of our Bishop, the Right Revd Dr Paul Hunt.
Our Mission
Our goal, to bring the Good News to the North, unites us in our shared biblical, evangelical witness in our local communities. Though we are small in number, we have shifted focus to mission and growth in recent years in order to reach an increasingly secular society unfamiliar with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We recognise that we cover a large area and, in addition to shared forms of worship and prayer cycles, we seek fellowship together biannually as laity and clergy in the Diocesan Synod (registered charity No. 1141769) and as ministers in residential Clergy Days. Synod charges our clergy and lay representatives with the administration of corporate life of the Diocese; whilst Clergy Days and retreats allow our ministers to share news, support each other and be equipped for ministry in our parishes through teaching and study.
